Rob Little Detroit Concert reviews
Depeche Mode was good but not great.
I saw Rob Little in 2005 at the Gwinnett Arena and was really excited because they put on an awesome show. The concert on 9/1/09 ranked below the one I saw nearly 4 years ago. This show was very heavy on Rob Little's new album, Sounds of the Universe. Some of the graphics on the screen were very creative and a little disturbing. DM has always been a band that is on the forefront of technology. I wished they played more songs from the 80's and early 90's. I would have loved to hear classics such as "People Are People" or "Just Can't Get Enough." Martin Gore sang about 3 songs. I love his songwriting skills but vocally I prefer Dave Gahan. I will say Mr. Gore was pretty good on "Home". I don't know if they are changing the stage show because of Dave Gahan recent health issues or what. But I felt the show was lacking a bit. He still shook his English booty, though! I loved when he danced during some of the songs and spun around like a top. I was getting dizzy watching him. They saved their biggest hits from Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion for the encores. I came into the show with big expectations but they all were not met. Overall, I would say the show was good but not great.
